Full Time Project Accountant at Environmental Consulting Co. (hybrid)
Stillwater Sciences is seeking a Project Accountant based in Berkeley or Davis, CA. This position is integral to Stillwater's business operations and financial sustainability. To succeed in this role, the Project Accountant must be able to work independently and as part of a team, focus and remain calm under deadline pressure, and solve problems efficiently and effectively. The Project Accountant must possess good communication skills for interacting with Project Managers and other support staff regarding billing, sub-consultant, and invoice matters. This is a full-time, 40 hours-per-week position.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
In partnership with other Project Accountants, work with Project Managers on monthly T&M, Fixed Price, Lump Sum, Daily Rate project billings (using Deltek Vantagepoint software).
Make labor transfers, enter and post subconsultant invoices, and make other types of edits to client invoices.
Review Employee Expense reports.
Run various project reports and provide support to other Project Accountants as requested.
Maintain well-organized and complete electronic billing files.
Assist Project Managers with Deltek Vantagepoint Resource Planning, including input and reporting.
Work on monthly A/R collections.
Provide backup support in other areas of the accounting department.
Ad hoc tasks as needed.
Minimum qualifications required are:
2 years or more experience preparing project invoices using compensation methods such as T&M, Fixed Price, Lump Sum, Daily Rates, etc.
Experience with project billing using ERP financial software system such as Deltek’s Vantagepoint (preferred), or other similar software. Project accounting experience is desirable.
Experience working in an architecture or engineering firm, (preferred) or other industry that bills job costs or fee for service.
Proven organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage a variety of tasks.
Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
Confidence to interact with all levels of staff, agency representatives, and clients in a professional and courteous manner.
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat skills. Experience with Pivot Tables, SumIf, and other functions, or a desire to learn.
Versatility to work both independently and collaboratively.
Personal integrity and sound judgment in working with confidential information.

Compensation and Application:
$72,000 - $80,000 annually-Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience
Full-time position with competitive compensation package including Paid Time Off, a 401(k) plan, full health and dental care, and employee ownership under our Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) after entry criteria are met.
Hybrid schedule with minimum of 24 hours/3 days a week in the office- either Berkeley, CA or Davis, CA.
