Handyman & Cleaners needed for Airbnb & Apartment Repair

Long story short: Are you an honest, trustworthy, handy person with a fairly flexible schedule and enjoys fixing / repairing / updating things

We are looking for experienced and reliable handypersons to handle various repair and maintenance tasks for Airbnb units and apartments in Chicago. The ideal candidates must be available for quick repairs, including evenings and weekends, and able to communicate effectively with our team via WhatsApp to provide real-time updates, pictures, and videos of completed work. If some jobs cannot be done for a day or two on occasion, it is usually not a problem.

Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot and repair leaks, minor plumbing issues, and other common property issues

- Purchase and replace mattresses and other essential items as needed

- Reprogram remotes, replace air filters.

- Check on Airbnb to make sure cleaners did a good job. Take photos / keep list of any damage.

- Repair or replace bed frames, furniture, and perform general touch-ups

- Send pictures, videos, and updates to the property management team via WhatsApp

Requirements:

- Must have a vehicle and be able to drive around various parts of Chicago, from North Side to South Side. Proven experience as a handyman or skilled in basic trades, preferably with experience in hospitality or short-term rentals

- Ability to respond quickly to repair requests, including on evenings and weekends. Most jobs will have plenty of notice, but sometimes a guest needs something simple like a lightbulb, or soap.

- Must have your own tools. You will be taking care of all basic property maintenance.

- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently

- Ability to communicate effectively with the team via WhatsApp (must have a smartphone)

- Flexibility to work on-call for quick repairs and property needs

- Experience patching drywall & painting. Clearing clogged kitchen & bath drains.

- Approximately 5 hours per week of work. Perfect side gig. Some of our staff are retired.

- Must be reliable and honest about your skill level. We cannot afford to have disappointed guests or tenants- If you can’t do something we will hire a professional that can.

Compensation:

Pay is per project or job, depending on how long it takes.

Many of our jobs take 2 minutes, and are as simple as dropping off supplies to an Airbnb guest. Quick easy money for someone with a fairly flexible schedule.
