Job Title: Street Light Maintenance Technician

Compensation: $26-36/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

Installs, maintains, and repairs all new and existing street lighting equipment including associated wiring and various lighting control systems.

Installs and repairs above and underground conduits, wires, cables, junction boxes, and lighting foundations.

Installs and maintains electrical service points.

Replaces and repairs nonfunctioning streetlights.

Provides technical work direction and guidance to others assigned to street lighting projects.

Assures standards of quality in workmanship and materials are met on all installations, repair, and maintenance projects.

Coordinates projects with municipalities and other contractors.

Responds to complaints pertaining to malfunctioning streetlights.

Responds to traffic accidents involving street lighting assets.

Follows proper safety procedures on job sites.

Assists in the inspection of streetlights and other electrical installations.

Performs other electrical installation, repair, and maintenance duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

Aerial/bucket truck experience required.

Knowledge of the lock-out tag-out program.

Ability to read and understand SDS.

OSHA 10 or 30 a plus.

Experience working in the ROW is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment, and systems used in the electrical trade.

Knowledge of all electrical systems (0-600 volts) AC and DC.

General knowledge of Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction is helpful.

Knowledge of electrical safety precautions.

Must have a good attitude and be able to maintain a positive relationship with customers and co-workers.

Position requires self-motivation with minimal supervision.

Must be able to multi-task.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

IMSA certification helpful.

Colorado State Journeyman or Master Electrical License a plus.

Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record required.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift 80 pounds, climb ladders, and run equipment.

Work Environment:

Work is regularly performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Exposed to temperatures both hot and cold.

Working around live traffic.
