Accountant
Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accountant based in San Antonio, Texas. As an Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for monitoring and maintaining various financial accounts, processing journal entries, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of accounting records.Responsibilities Manage the general ledger with a focus on maintaining accuracy and reconciling various financial accounts including payroll, accounts receivable, and depreciation. Execute monthly bank account reconciliations. Handle agency billing in line with funder deadlines, which includes documentation compilation, preparation of funder forms, and updating the income tracker in Excel. Prepare and input monthly journal entries, ensuring all entries are supported by relevant attachments, reports, and documentation. Support the preparation of interim and yearly financial reports, perform account reconciliations and account analysis. Monitor budget items periodically, comparing actual expenses with the budget, and implement measures to promote budget adherence. Assist in both internal and external audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation. Ensure compliance with procedures and maintain internal controls to uphold the accuracy and integrity of financial data that supports grant accounting. Provide necessary support to fiscal staff as required. Track and record capital expenditure, maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
