Parts Manager – Automotive Dealership Service Department

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee our dealership’s parts department. This role is critical in ensuring efficient inventory management, timely availability of parts for the service department, and outstanding customer service for retail and wholesale parts sales. The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive parts operations, inventory control, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the parts department, ensuring efficient inventory management and timely availability of parts for service and repairs.

Maintain optimal stock levels by monitoring inventory, forecasting demand, and managing orders with manufacturers and suppliers.

Work closely with the service department to ensure technicians have the necessary parts to complete repairs efficiently.

Manage and train parts staff, ensuring a high level of customer service for retail, wholesale, and internal service customers.

Negotiate pricing and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to optimize cost savings and availability.

Develop and implement sales strategies to increase parts revenue, including upselling accessories and add-on services.

Ensure accurate record-keeping of parts transactions, invoices, and inventory using dealership management software.

Monitor and control parts department expenses, minimizing obsolescence and maximizing profitability.

Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer guidelines, and safety regulations.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting customers with parts selection.

Qualifications:

Experience in automotive parts management, inventory control, or a related role within a dealership or service department.

Strong knowledge of automotive parts, cataloging, and ordering systems.

Proficiency in dealership management software and inventory tracking tools.

Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

Ability to analyze inventory data, manage costs, and improve efficiency.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

ASE Parts Specialist Certification or manufacturer training is a plus.
