New Bar/Restaurant Opening – Seeking Experienced General Manager
Lundy’s, a new bar/restaurant opening this October in Red Hook, Brooklyn, is seeking a full-time General Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to jump in with us from the beginning as we revive a former Brooklyn culinary staple and strive to build an expanding, thriving restaurant in the Red Hook community. This is a hands-on position that will involve leading a team of 10-15 staff and implementing new strategies and policies to drive restaurant operations forward. The right candidate will bring their own experience, knowledge and a self-starter attitude to the position to support the success and growth of Lundy’s.
We're looking for someone with the knowledge and availability to join our team immediately as we finalize operations and head swiftly toward a soft opening (late October 2024).

Requirements:
Restaurant Management Experience: Minimum 3 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service restaurant setting.
STRONG ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS: Comfortable working with spreadsheets, managing payroll reporting, tips distributions, email interactions, POS systems, etc.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with experience in training and development, while maintaining professional relationships.
Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of food, spirits, cocktails, and current industry trends.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests.
Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Transportation: Red Hook is a bit off the beaten path. Please ensure you have reliable transportation before applying.
Responsibilities & Duties:
FOH Management: Maintains a clean, welcoming environment. Oversees daily opening/closing procedures. Delegates tasks appropriately. Positively impacts the financial condition of the business through controlling costs and increasing sales. Oversees all aspects of service.
Staff Management: Posts staff schedules (Homebase) while being mindful of labor costs/business needs. Identifies hiring needs and interviews/hires/trains/fires when necessary. Provides information to all employees regarding employment policies, benefits, rights and responsibilities. Curates a positive staff culture that keeps employees engaged in their work and increases their knowledge of sales techniques and overall hospitality.
Administrative Tasks: Reports daily/weekly/monthly/annual sales numbers to Owner and Accountant. Manages and reconciles inventory alongside Assistant General Manager. Orders and maintains all FOH supplies. Processes new hire paperwork. Processes and submits weekly payroll. Balances cash drawer and properly reconciles/reports cash transactions to Accountant.
Systems/Operations: Oversees POS System (Clover) by managing inventory items, adjusting pricing, loading in new employees, tracking sales, etc. Manages reservations system including but not limited to adjusting availabilities, updating existing reservations, processing refunds, managing daily manifests, etc. Takes lead on updating business website and Google listing including menu changes, ensuring accurate listing information, promoting special events, etc.
Compensation/Benefits: Dependent upon experience, compensation ranges between $65,000 - $80,000 annually, with potential for quarterly bonuses. This is a full-time, in-person, benefits eligible position.
